Episode 17 - Cap'n Papin
In this episode we talk to team captain, Joe Papin. I don't think we need an intro.
Episode 16 - Charlie Sawyer
In this episode we talk to future engineer, world traveler, and all around team kinda guy, Charlie Sawyer. Hailing from Central High and landing behind the Pine Curtain at St. John's, Charlie tells how easy it was to freak out fellow suburban/yuppie teammates with tales of his inner-city life ... in Mac/Grove. While at St. John's, he reveals the mystery behind what it takes to earn the loftiest of all honorifics, the "Team Kind of Guy" award. We are then whisked away to China where Charlie first gets a taste of travel, a pursuit he follows down to Santiago, Chile. Returning home from abroad, he weighs two options for his future. Enjoy.
Episode 14 - Tim Hamill
In this episode we talk to one Collegeville's original team members, Tim Hamill. He's part of the legacy team that helped usher in Collegeville's early years of success. In Act I, we talk about Tim's early days running and living just outside Milwaukee up until his move to Stout, where he competed successfully in the highly-competitive WIAC. In Act II, Tim talks about his post-collegiate ambitions in the steeple chase, doing what he could to break the nine minute barrier, an ambition that highlights the struggles for a talented runner training and racing with little support.
Episode 12 - Kelly Fermoyle
In this episode, we talk to Kelly Fermoyle who spills the details on what it takes to become a highly competitive runner on a very talented collegiate team. Without giving too much away, it involves quitting skiing, training over the summer, and realizing that golf isn't so much a sport played by athletes as a glorified yard game, like lawn darts or bocce ball, played by eight year olds and republicans. In Act I, we learn about the early days of Kelly's training, a lot of which involved inflated mileage along our newly coveted Sibley trail. In Act II, we learn about Kelly's decision to attend SJU, a school that wasn't on his radar. He picks up where Chris Erichsen left off, completing the brief history of this highly talented team. In the final minutes we get the long awaited Get 'N Gear performance results.
Episode 11 - Co-Champion Chris Erichsen
In this super-sized episode, our brave host enters the lion's den, barely surviving an hours long interview between Co-Champions Chris Erichsen and Christopher Coffey. In Act I, Coffey uses misdirection, interruption, and head-shaking belly laughs to thwart Erichsen's every effort to relay a coherent narrative of his life as an elite runner. Despite Coffey's malicious attempts to derail the conversation, Erichsen manages to convey his early years running in SmallTown, Minnesota, slowly building a team of five guys into a regional powerhouse. In Act II, Erichsen tells about his years working under the tutelage of Coach Miles--not rigorously training perse, but gaining life-affirming skills nonetheless on the SJU trails and track with a snow blower and hedge clippers. In the wee minutes, Erichsen spills the details on his Olympic Trials debut and tells how a runner of his magnitude ended up on a team of such ill repute.
Episode 10 - The Founder (Part II)
In this episode, our brave host continues his discussion with the Founder concerning the early days of Team Collegeville. This time we delve deeper into the reason why 2004 was such a rough year for the Founder and the team as a whole. Listen in and see how the team averted self-destruction by embracing the very principles it was founded upon. Enjoy.
Episode 9 - The Founder (Part I)
In this episode, our brave host sits down with Team Collegeville's founder for a lengthy discussion that tells the story of our humble beginnings way back in the pre-Facebook days of the early '00s. In Act I of the show, the Founder tells how the team started as a whim with little to no money and as a way to keep recent graduates of local universities competitive as they transition from collegiate programs to real life. Many details of USATF's sordid history are shared as we see exactly where Team Collegeville placed among a cast of teams that have come, gone, and stayed. Act II brings us further through Team Collegeville's history and tells how one of its most defining members came aboard. The end of the show leaves us with Team Collegeville's dark years, a time where the team not only struggled to be competitive but struggled to remain in existence. Enjoy.
Episode 8 - Bart Johnson
In this episode, our brave host interviews Bart Johnson, our very own Team Vice-Dentist and first Run N' Fun convert. In Act I, Bart explains how and why he made the leap from a USATF road-racing powerhouse to Team Collegeville, a team we all know has struggled for relevancy and has remained in its "rebuilding" phase for well over ten years. Bart's dramatic extraction from Team Run N' Fun segues into a sadistic pastime he calls his profession: tooth removal. In Act II, Bart continues to clear the nitrous from the room when he further reveals the details behind dental work and tells a story about a legendary runner he and his Augustana teammates know only as the Running Bum.
Episode 7 - Steve Babcock
In this episode, our brave host interviews another young buck, Babs. In Act I, Babs talks about his switch from mid-D specialist to marathon harrier, his vast improvements using Collegeville's training methods, and why no one should be too gull durn surprised that he's kicking ass at 26.2. At the end of Act I, Babs tells us why he will be leaving the great state of Minnesota, a reason he says will change his life. In Act II, Babs brings us on a ride through a mysterious place called Branson and astonishes us with his D-I, yes D One, prowess. In the final minutes, Babs makes his measured predictions for Team Collegeville's fate for this coming racing season. Enjoy.

Episode 4 - Aaron Beaber
In this episode, our brave host interviews resident expert in all things polymer based and Team Treasurer, Aaron Beaber. In Act I of the show, while a special guest pays a visit and stays for the entirety of the interview, the C-ville men explore the nuances between DIII in the East and DIII in the Midwest. Beaber goes on to reveal a surprising move right after high school. In Act II, Mark psycho-analyzes Papin and Papin's determination to beat a single person in a single race ... twice, while Beaber admits to having been to and enjoyed the Jersey Shore. In the final minutes of the show, Beaber makes an honest prediction about his goals as one of the most consistent scoring members on Team Collegeville. Enjoy.
